Privacy Policy

Effective 11 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Pixelafy ("Pixelafy", "we", "us" or "our") handles information in connection with our website at https://pixelafy.com and the software applications we develop and publish (each an "App", together the "Services").

We build software that does a job for the people using it. We do not run an advertising business, we do not sell personal data, and we do not build marketing or behavioural profiles from the information our Apps handle. Where an App needs personal data, it is because the App cannot do what you asked of it without that data.

The short version

If you read nothing else, these are the commitments that shape everything below.

  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal data to anyone.
  • We do not use personal data for advertising, and our Apps do not embed advertising or ad-tracking SDKs.
  • We do not build marketing profiles, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • We collect the minimum needed to make a feature work, and no more.
  • You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected].

Who and what this policy covers

This policy covers our public website and the Apps we publish under our own name.

It does not cover systems we build for a client and hand over to them to operate. In those cases the client is the party responsible for the data, and their own privacy notice applies. If you are unsure which situation applies to a particular system, ask us and we will tell you.

It also does not cover third-party services you reach from our Services, such as an app store, a payment provider, or a website we link to. Those operate under their own policies.

Our website

Our website is a set of static pages. As published, it sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts, and does not attempt to identify visitors. There is no contact form, so nothing is submitted to us through the site itself.

Our hosting provider records standard server logs, which typically include IP address, timestamp, requested page and user agent. These are used to keep the site running and secure, not to profile visitors.

The site links to WhatsApp and to an email address. Choosing to contact us that way sends your message and contact details to us, and is handled under "Information you give us" below.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you contact us for support or about a project, we receive whatever you choose to send: typically your name, email address or phone number, and the content of your message. Where an App has user accounts, we collect the details needed to create and secure that account.

Information the Apps handle for you

Our Apps process the content you put into them so they can do their job — records you create, files you upload, settings you choose. This content belongs to you. We treat it as confidential, we do not mine it for our own purposes, and we do not use it to train models.

Technical and diagnostic information

To keep an App working we may collect limited technical information such as device model, operating system version, App version, and crash or error reports. This tells us that something broke and roughly where. It is used for stability and security, not to identify you personally.

Device permissions

Some Apps ask for device permissions — camera, photo library, storage, location or notifications — and each is requested only when a feature you have chosen needs it. You can refuse or later withdraw any permission in your device settings; only the feature that depends on it stops working. We do not collect location in the background for any purpose unrelated to a feature you are actively using.

How we use information

We use the information described above only to:

  • provide, operate and maintain the Services, and deliver the features you use;
  • respond to your enquiries, support requests and bug reports;
  • diagnose faults, fix defects and improve reliability and performance;
  • protect the Services, our users and ourselves against fraud, abuse and security incidents;
  • send service messages such as important changes, security notices or outage information; and
  • comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We do not use personal data for advertising, list-building, resale, or automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

When we share information

We do not sell personal data. We share it only in these situations:

  • Service providers. Infrastructure we rely on to run the Services, such as hosting, storage, error reporting and email delivery. They may process data only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us.
  • App stores and platforms. Where you obtain an App through a store, that store handles the download, and any purchase, under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Legal requirements. Where we are required to disclose information by law, regulation, or a valid order from a competent authority, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
  • Safety. Where disclosure is necessary to prevent or address fraud, abuse, or a serious threat to the security of the Services or to any person.
  • Business transfer. If our business or part of it is reorganised, merged or acquired, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will give notice before your information becomes subject to a materially different policy.

How long we keep information

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires us to.

  • Enquiry and support correspondence is kept while we deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference.
  • Account data is kept for as long as the account is active, and is deleted or anonymised after closure, subject to any retention we are legally required to observe.
  • Diagnostic and crash data is kept for a short period and then discarded.

If you ask us to delete data and we are legally required to keep some of it, we will tell you which part and why.

Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk: encryption in transit, access limited to those who need it, and prompt patching of the systems we run. Where an App stores data on your device, we rely on the security controls the operating system provides, which is one reason we recommend keeping your device and its software up to date.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach occurs that is likely to result in a significant risk to you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.

Your rights

Subject to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia and to any other data protection law that applies to you, you may:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct data that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;
  • ask us to delete data where there is no continuing reason for us to keep it;
  • ask us to limit how we use your data, or object to a particular use;
  • withdraw consent where we relied on your consent, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it; and
  • complain to the relevant data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within the period required by applicable law, and in any event without undue delay. We may need to verify your identity before acting, so that we do not disclose your data to someone else.

International transfers

We are based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Some of the infrastructure we use may store or process data in other countries. Where data moves across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard consistent with this policy and with applicable law.

Children's privacy

Our Services are intended for general or business use and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our Services change or as the law requires. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle your personal data, we will give clearer notice — in the App, by email, or both.

Contact us

For any question, request or complaint about privacy or about how we handle your data, email [email protected]. Please include enough detail for us to identify the App or service you are asking about, and we will get back to you.
